Mommy Tip

After being home for 5 years with my daughter I decided to go back to work. I soon realized there was no way I could keep on top of everything like dinner, chores and working too. So I made up a chore list for the whole family and made up a list of dinners for the week. The kids and my husband enjoyed helping pick out the weeks menu and things where much smoother in the household.

Tips to Keep You Sane Being a Work Outside of the Home Mommy.

by: Candace Gill

The night before work make sure you have all of your supplies for work gathered and ready to go. Have your outfit picked out down to the shoes and socks. Keep your makeup in a bag that only has the items you regularly use to makeup your face. Have the kids ready to go as well. Sign any papers for school make sure children have homework, supplies, outfits, and lunch money all ready to go. A mom once told me the best thing to do is have a cubby hole or basket for each child and make sure everything the child will need will be right in her designated spot. Place your keys in the same spot everyday and always have a set of backup keys.

During work try not to think of the chores that need done at home, don't think of the recital on Friday night or how your husband needs you to attend a work function later in the week. Focus on your job. When leaving work, leave it completely, do not bring home any projects. The work will be there on Monday morning trust me.

On your drive home, don't rush and honk and scream at every bad driver in the world. Turn the radio on a station you enjoy and turn it up. Once you get home try to get as much out of the way as possible, have any older children complete chores or fix dinner, if you don't have older children enlist your husbands help, one night give him bath time and you take the kitchen rotate the chores as much as possible.

Weekends are made for relaxing and fun period, no buts! Let the weekend be family time. The only chores that should be allowed should be the laundry for the week and of course nightly dishes.
